What are the crowns now on wordscapes tourneys?

I have the same question, and I notice that your initial question was never answered. At first I thought it was a great idea, 3 months of game play, and crowns awarded to the highest scores. But I played a bunch and it never went beyond the ZERO points. So who knows how this works. Frustrating to not have a full and complete answer, or any answer at all.

The new crowns feature lets players collect crowns for playing and placing high in tournaments. Players start with a basic crown and the more tournaments that they play in and win the more elaborate that their crown becomes. Reddit Jan 4, 2020

Obviously people cheat. No one could use fingers as fast as some who accumulate points at the near end of a tournement. What’s going on?
