Beginner's Strategy

To help you make the most out your time, we've compiled a shortlist of strategy that will help you create a dream team of hosts that will satisfy every guests out there in Westworld, and skip the unnecessary mistakes that will delay Delos Park's progress. Below, we've listed some of the most useful things to know when you just begun playing the game.

Level-up on Sweetwater

Beginner's Strategy

When you successfully unlocked and upgraded all your facilities in Sweetwater, you might get excited for all the other locations that you'll gain access with - only to find out that the facilities in the new areas would generally be flocked by higher tiered guests (meaning higher entertainment requirements). Do not push your luck with hosts that can barely satisfy their requirements as you'd gamble your hosts survival.

Instead, you might just want to stay a bit longer in Sweetwater instead and enjoy its passive reward bonus which will ultimately enable you to collect larger sums of host codes per day. What you want to do with all these hosts codes you get is manufacture them, and then use them as sacrifice to rebuild your higher-tiered hosts to get them performing better (basically the leveling system in the game). That said, you should also must not waste your efforts on upgrading 1-star host. Instead, use them as sacrifice to rebuild and level up higher tiered hosts (2 or 3 star hosts).

The other reason to stay here during your beginner phase is that guests that flock Sweetwater tend to be limited to 3-star ones which in time, you'll be able to easily satisfy. Unlike other areas of the game which will commonly be flocked by 3-4 star rating guests. That said, you'll be better off doing activities in Sweetwater until you level up your hosts to tackle the higher requirements of the other locations.

Save up on Free Gems

The game will occasionally hand out free gems as you progress. Basically, when objectives are met, you are given free gems as reward. When you do, do not waste them on speeding up process for your temporary convenience. Instead, what you should do is save them until you can purchase and manufacture a 3-star host.

Since the general idea is to make your park more attractive to guests, your main focus should be obtaining higher tiered hosts.

Also, if you progressed enough in the game, you'll be able to unlock the Dr. Ford's Office. What this facility in your control room actually does is that it gives you a free gem every 30 mins. If you happen to be spending a lot of time in the game, this will be a good source of free gems in the game. It might not be much, but a free gem still counts.

Extra Tips:

- When you actually manage to get your hands on higher tiered host, you might want to spend time developing them to get them better too. What this does is let them earn better rewards when performing interactions with guests. You can also send them to journeys or calibration facility to earn rewards items or experience. Just remember that while a host performs such activities, they wont be available in the park to perform guest interactions.

- Use basic hosts (level 1s) to develop your higher tiered hosts -- and for this particular use only. Do not waste your efforts building up on a 1-star host as it would basically do you no good as soon as you step out of Sweetwater.

- Remember that hosts and guests that share an affinity will perform better in their interactions - hence, will give you better rewards. As a hint, just check the Hat icon and try to match similar colored ones when trying to find someone to perform a role as requested by the guest. During your first few days in the game, this might not be relative at all, but as soon as you earn more hosts, it becomes all too important.

Summary of Instructions:

- Even if you managed to have unlocked a different location in the game, as tempting as it is, you should focus on earning a good number of 3 - 5 star hosts first. Stay on Sweetwater!

- Resists using gems as speedups while playing, and instead collect them to manufacture higher tiered hosts.

- Upgrade buildings whenever you get the chance as they tend to reward you with bonus gems for every complete interaction.

- Match Hosts with Guests -- green colored rating indicates a match which will most likely give you better rewards. Otherwise, make sure to at least offer a satisfactory rating or your host can get into trouble.

- Give time for each of your hosts -- check them when they are idle if they need diagnostics to prevent glitching.

- It is better and cheaper to prevent a glitch than to fix a broken host.

- Rebuild 3-4 star hosts with the basic hosts you get.

- Patience is key in this game. Know the limits that your hosts can perform and do not push them to perform interactions that they can hardly comply with.

- You can actually sort out the guests by their duration of stay and succession, in order to plan ahead with your hosts, and to figure out which ones give better rewards and how often.
