Our best Snowbreak cheats, tips and beginners guide
Here are our best cheats, tips and beginners guide for Snowbreak: Containment Zone, a 3D sci-fi RPG-shooter powered by the Unreal Engine 4 that launched in July 2023.
Snowbreak cheats, tips and beginners guide
- Play through the Main Story First
The game has several features locked behind story progress so it's highly recommended to go through the story missions first before getting distracted by anything else. The story mode is made up of different chapters, with each chapter having individual stages. Not only do you unlock features, you'll also unlock tougher difficulties in your operations, which will yield better rewards.
- Mind your premium currency
The game's premium currency is DigiCash and you'll get access to a good amount early on. However, this will dwindle later on so don't carelessly use them, especially when trying to pull on permanent gacha banners (Duty's Command and Hearth of Midgard). It's better using them trying to pull limited characters since they'll only be around temporarily and it may take a while before they get a rerun.
- Check your Tasks often
Your Tasks are divided into different categories where you can consistently claim various rewards, including DigiCash and Adjutant (player) EXP.
- The Daily Tasks can be completed daily for common rewards and progress will be counted towards the game's version of a Battle Pass.
- Seasonal Tasks are usually weekly tasks or limited tasks that you can complete to get some DigiCash.
- The Main Story category even has a couple of free 4-star weapons, 4-star weapon selector, logistic officer sets, and Extracts for Lyfe (default operative) necessary to increase her Manifestation level.
- Check the Events Page
In the Events Page, you'll see all available events for you, both permanent and limited. This will help guide you towards a good direction, in case you don't know how to proceed or progress in the game.
- At least log in daily.
The game has a daily login reward system so even if you don't think you'll be able to play for long, at least login once to claim your daily reward. There's also a free Presence recovery item that you claim for free daily in the Quartermaster page.
- Familiarize yourself with the DMG Types
The game has different elemental DMG types which can direct the flow of combat, due to enemies either resisting them or suffering from bonus damage. Your operatives' skills will be aligned to one of these DMG types which will be affected depending on the weapon or neural skill that you give them.
Weapons have elemental DMG as well. Each bullet from weapons with elemental attributes will deal their corresponding elemental DMG to their target. Some skills or neural skills (skill upgrade properties) might also require the user to have a specific weapon type equipped before their effect becomes activated.
- Squad Variety is the Key
Once you have recruited several operatives, forming at least one main squad for clearing story missions and various content in the game will be a lot easier. When creating your squad, it's good to know who you'll field often and which operatives have better support skills to complement your team. A good example is Yao-Quiet Quitter. She's a sniper but all her skills are support-oriented so she's better in an off-field position most of the time.
Weapon variety and elemental DMG is also considered to help you deal with various situations. For example, if you need to take out enemies comfortably at long and medium range, you're better off having a squad member that can use an assault rifle, pistol, or sniper rifle. When you're tackling an enclosed space, then a shotgun and SMG user might be ideal.
- Training your Operatives
Improving your operatives is a consistent requirement as you progress through the game. It's worth remembering that your operatives can't go higher than your Adjutant (player) level. It's easy to reach this cap and it's a bummer since you'll get blocked from doing certain actions that's level-locked.
When that happens, you can focus on improving other aspects of your operatives like leveling up their weapons, training their assigned logistic officers, improving their neuronics, and farming their manifestations.
- Complete the Personal Files missions daily
Getting Extracts for your operatives can be daunting since you'll normally have to rely on duplicates from the gacha pulls. Thankfully, you'll be able to get them for free by completing their respective Personal File missions. You can only complete a limited amount of these missions daily but since they're repeatable and reset daily, you can slowly grind for these. This is also a good source of free 5-star extracts since you can't normally get them anywhere else outside of gacha.
- Weapon Parts
The game has a weapon customization system which will allow you to install up to four parts on the selected weapon. All available parts are shared among the same weapon class. That means if one pistol has a special part already installed, you can still install the same part on other pistols, regardless of rarity, model, and level.
Weapon parts are unlocked through the methods listed below.
- Progress through the main story
- Acquire a weapon for the first time
- Upgrade a weapon to LV50
To review the requirement for unlocking a part, simply click/tap on the part you want to examine and the unlocking condition will be displayed on the same screen.
Only weapons 4 star and above will have special parts that can be unlocked after they reach LV50. This means any 4-star or above weapons you have is worth upgrading to LV50 as long as they have a special part that can be unlocked.
