Pokémon Quest Guide

Last Updated:

The game is set in Tumblecube Island, an island heavily populated by wild Pokemon. In the game, you basically manage a base camp and a team of Pokemon that will primarily perform the expeditions. The main objective in the game is to scour all the levels on the island, by taking your own team of Pokemon to perform missions, and clear each area (levels in the game) of wild Pokemon. When playing the game, you'll basically find yourself managing four primary tasks:

Managing Your Camp

The camp is the main hub of the game where you get to do several important things like cooking (to lure new Pokemon), sort out your expedition team, and even decorate your camp to earn some passive buffs while performing the expeditions. You'll also see each and every Pokemon you currently have actively playing within your camp -- which randomly attracts other wild Pokemon to make a visit.

Clearing the Levels

The Pokemon team you send mainly needs to scour the level for wild Pokemon and defeat them. In the whole game, you'll have to clear 12 different locations, each with 4 to 7 levels. Every time you play a mission, you can send as much as three Pokemon to perform the entire level. When the Pokemon reaches an exhaustion point (zeroed in HP), it will enter a Pokeball for a cool duration. When the cool down duration ends, it will automatically summon back the Pokemon with only a fraction of its HP.

They can be summoned an infinite number of times for as long as there is a single Pokemon that isn't defeated when your other Pokemon are replenishing their HP. When all three Pokemon in your team gets zeroed at the same time (meaning they get inside their Pokeballs the same time), you fail the level - at which, you have the option to pay PM tickets to collect the loot items you've already recovered during the mission (important option if you manage to find a rare cooking ingredient).

Training/Leveling Your Pokemon

The are 167 unique move sets distributed to each and every Pokemon you find in the game. There are instances where you find similar Pokemon but with different move sets. Depending on the primary task you intended a Pokemon to perform, you might need a different move set for it. There are 3 distinct types of move in the game - First are the attack type of moves, Second are passive buffs for your Pokemon, and lastly there are the negative buffs on opponents too.

Training and Leveling your Pokemon is important to successfully defeat the levels of the game - which are given a battle difficulty rating. Depending on the level and power stones that your roster of Pokemon have, you team will be given a battle rating. Usually, your battle rating should be at least 500 to 1000 higher than the given level or you'll most likely fail it.

Gameplay

Training can be performed within the base camp to either level-up your Pokemon (which will boost its basic stats), or learn a different move set. In the process, you select a maximum of four Pokemon currently staying in your base camp to perform the training with the Pokemon you choose. Take note though that you will lose all the other Pokemon you enlist to help train your chosen Pokemon. Using similar types of Pokemon (as that of what you choose to train) will help make the training much efficient - as you'd need less Pokemon to sacrifice to achieve 100% success rate.

Additionally, when performing the expedition themselves, your team also gain experience from it and eventually level-up which similarly increases their base stats.

Luring New Pokemon

The last main activity in the game is cooking. A seemingly brilliant new idea for a Pokemon game. In this game, you do not necessarily have to throw a pokeball at a defeated Pokemon to capture it. Instead, you befriend Pokemon by cooking recipes that will attract them. There are a total of 18 recipes that will attract different Pokemon in game, which themselves have different size portions that basically defines the level of Pokemon it will attract. The harder it is to procure the ingredient, usually, the rarer the Pokemon you get from using it. To get a better understanding of how select your ingredients, check our Recipe Guide.
