How to Get a New Pokemon in Pokemon Quest

Pokemon Quest offers a fresh new take on capturing Pokemon. Here, you do not necessarily throw a Pokeball to catch them. Instead, you lure new Pokemon by preparing irresistible recipes that they'd go after. For this, there is a cooking pot at the center of your base camp. Depending on the ingredients that you'll put together, you can create a variety of dishes with different size offerings to gain the different types of Pokemon, in varying different levels.

Cooking Basics

Cooking pot as accessed inside your base camp:

1. Cooking Pot - access to the cooking system/activity in the game.

2. Duration - reveals how many expeditions are needed to complete the cooking process.

3. PM Tickets - can be used to speed up the process of cooking. 10 PM tickets per deducted turn.

Recipe Recollection Guide

When you start to make something and become successful in the process (of making a new recipe), it wouldn't give you a cheat sheet of the ingredients that you might have randomly put together. Instead, the dish you'll be able to make will have a definition that describes the dish. From these words, you can actually re-make the dish as it hints you the type of ingredient, the quantity it needs, and even the serving portion.

We've listed the key words (hints) and are listed as:

Quantity of Ingredients (loots)

[A whole lot] - 4 slots

[A lot] - 3 slots

[A few] - 2 slots

[A little] - 1 slot

Description of Ingredient

[Small] - Tiny Mushroom, Bluk Berry, Apricorn, Fossil (small size loots)

[Precious] - Big Root, Icy Rock, Honey, Balm Mushroom (big size loots)

Cooking Basics

Cooking interface of the game:

1. Cooking Pot option - switches pots when you already obtained them. Better pot will produce better Pokemon.

2. Amount of Ingredients Per Slot - depending on the pot, the number of ingredients vary per slot.

3. Ingredient Slot - where you put the ingredients you have to produce a dish to lure Pokemon.

4. Recipe Hint - displays subtle hints for you to recollect the ingredients of a particular dish.

5. Ingredients - displays the current ingredients you have. Grayed out when you don't have it.

Quality of Dish

Depending on the ingredients you use, the dish's quality also varies. Primarily distinguished by the number of expeditions it takes to complete the cooking process. The higher the number, the better quality the dish is - which equates to rarer Pokemon that has better stats being lured in your camp.

The basic rule of thumb is to add [Precious] or [Very Precious] type of ingredients to increase the quality of your dish. Below are the point equivalent of each ingredient in the game:

[Small] - 1 point

[Precious] - 2 points

[Very Precious] - 3 points

[Mystical] - 4 points

[Rainbow Matter] - 3 points (but will not fulfill the requirements of the recipe)

Assessment of Quality Example:

Description / Dish Quality / Iron Pot (cooking duration)

[Basic] / combined total of 1-5 points / 2 Expedition Turns on Iron Pot

Better Quality Requirements and number of turns:

[Good] - combined total of 6-7 Points, 4 Expedition Turns on Iron Pot (increases as you use better pots)

[Very Good] - combined total of 8-9 Points, 4 Expedition Turns on Iron Pot (increases as you use better pots)

[Special] - combined total of 10 or more Points, 6 Expedition Turns on Iron Pot (increases as you use better pots)
