Fortune Countdown is the three day solo event which dropped today on Monopoly Go, running from 11am EST on the 27th December until the same time on the 30th, this event is another great opportunity to get more free Prize Drop chips as well as a ton of dice and stickers.
The complete Fortune Countdown rewards and milestones list is below and on offer specifically are over 15,000 dice, more than 800 Prize Drop chips and three 5-star purple sticker packs.

Look out for the High Roller at milestones 23 and 41 as chances to use the biggest multipliers if you are feeling lucky and have good dice throwing options. Scroll down past the lists for our top playing tips to help you get points and win in this event.
Be aware that even though this event finishes on the 30th December, Prize Drop finishes on the 29th. When Prize Drop finishes, you will no longer be able to collect Prize Drop chips from this event. So if you want Prize Drop chips, complete the milestones in this event before Prize Drop finishes.

How to Play and Get Points in Fortune Countdown
In this event you only earn points by landing on either the Utility Tiles (Electric Company and Water Works) or Tax Tiles (Income Tax or Luxury Tax). Then, depending on the multiplier you used for that throw will determine your final points for that turn.
The tax and utility tiles are scored as follows:
- Utilties (Water and Electric) - 2 points
- Tax (Income Tax or Luxury Tax) - 3 points
With the tax tiles being higher scoring, plus the fact there are in the same section of the board and close to two railroad tiles, make the tax tiles the obvious tiles to target in this event. Don't waste your dice going around the rest of the board with a high multiplier, only use it when you approach the section with the tax tiles as as well as those tiles, there are chances to land on a railroad too. Also remember that landing on a shield tile will give you your dice back as long as you have full shields.
This type of event is not a favorite of mine, but it's better than some as if you get lucky and are disciplined with your multiplier you stand a good chance of scoring well.
The highest probabilities for a two dice throw are rolling a 6,7 or 8, so those are the distances you should be thinking about when using a higher than normal multiplier.
Alternatively, as a general rule, and if you don't want to play with such strict multiplier rules, anywhere after the Go to Jail square would be a good place to start increasing your dice multiplier.
Look out for high roller opportunities, but also be wary of losing a lot of dice if you throw too much at one turn.
