What is a good strategy to die less? I seem to die a lot in the game even playing on shards at my level.

Move carefully and try no to charge to quickly in to the middle of a mob or enemies. Ranged characters can help you take out enemies before they attack you.

For your level, this goes up as you open more packs and gain cards but only equipping better skills and armour will improve your abilities so check your character to see if you can add or update anything.
