What is the floating magnifier with a letter in it mean at the beginning of a scene? Sometimes it's a silouette of an object. I have tried to figure it out but can't. Thank you

If there is a ___ inside the magnifier then:
Letter A: ypu will be give the name of the object
A duster: you will be looking for cobwebs (moss in the fish tank/entertainment room)
Coin: you will look for coins
Backward F: The words will be spelled backwards
Bell: you will be given the shape/outline of the objects
