How do I get more crops to grow in family island?

Actually there is a perk from a gifted item that you're suppose to be able to place next to the crops for the crops to multiple. Instead of 1, you get 2. But I read about it from a creator but I guess I'm not high enough rank yo get the gift item yet, lvl 60 at the moment. Not sure if it's true or if they were blowing smoke

If you mean having more beds to grow crops in, check the "shipping cart" after you upgraded. It may contain more beds you can grow crops in.

I think they meant shopping cart in the other answer. To grow more crops, click on the plot, drag the desired crop from the list of images to the center of the screen. Also, more different crops become available as you level up. You start with yams, then corn, then tomatoes, then bell peppers, etc.
