Artery Gear Fusion is a gacha mobile RPG by Bilibili HK that feature equally attractive and badass mech girls in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by murderous Puppets. Like other gacha titles, the game has a huge roster of units (called AGs) with their own personalities and skill sets. However, not all of them are created equal. Players will mostly choose AGs to include in their squads based primarily on their tastes or the AG’s meta status. In this article, we will quickly discuss which characters to watch out for. We will be dividing this article in multiple pages since we want to provide as much detail as possible for our choices, to help you decide which characters you’ll want to build and allocate resources to.

Disclaimer

Please be reminded that Tier Lists are not “definite” measures of the character’s strength and potential. There are a lot of factors to be considered like the characters’ availability, their synergy with your team, their utility, equipment, etc. As such, please use our tier lists as what they’re meant to be - a guide. Use tier lists to help you decide whether you’ll want to invest resources and time to build a character. At the end of the day, it’s you who will decide which ones you’ll use based on preference and performance .

------------------------------

Disclaimer aside, I’m personally more of a waifu/ personal taste > meta player. Meta units are great to have but building and investing on characters or units I like gives me a more satisfying experience when playing. That said, your own gaming experience should matter so feel free to do whatever pleases you.

The great thing about Artery Gear is that high-tier units are not exclusive to 5-star ranked AGs. In this list, you’ll find 4-star and even 3-star AGs. If you don’t see your favorite AG in this list, that doesn’t mean that they’re useless or bad; the AGs we featured in this list are generally considered to be great units overall and it won’t hurt having some of them in your squads for helping you clear various content.

Trial Runs

Thankfully, the game allows you to try out all AGs currently available in the game - even those you don’t own yet. To do this, follow the steps below.

1. Tap the Codex menu in the main screen

2. Tap, Character Data, then select the AG that you want to try out

3. Next, tap the Trial button in the lower-right corner.

4. In the pop-up window, select your trial opponent(s).

5. Once you’re done, pause the battle then exit to return to the previous screen.

Tier List Summary

We will be dividing our list into three tiers: SS, S, and A. SS units are usually considered broken and having them in your squad will drastically increase your quality of life in-game. S tier units are still exceptionally strong but not as broken as the SS units. Finally, A-tier units are strong and reliable on their right. You’ll do well having them but they won’t have that significant of an impact compared to our S and SS tiers.

SS Tier: Ginga, Shyura, Sirius, Hearin

S Tier: Nina, Milvus, Shinobu, Quinn, Alice, Grace

A Tier: Ghost, Senba, Teufel, Tony, Neisa, Ruri, Chihaya

Special Mentions: Roko, Corax, Della, Kagari, Nio

SS Tier Units

Ginga

Ginga is a blue assault AG that dominates PvE and PvP due to her sheer damage output. Her basic attack has good scaling that has a probability to apply two stacks of Electric Shock to a single target for 2 turns. (Electric shock: deal 30% of your attack at the start of your turn, ignores 70% of the target’s DEF) Her active skill also deals damage while applying ES with a higher probability. Furthermore, if the target hit by the skill has an existing ES stack, Ginga will automatically follow up with her basic attack with guaranteed probability to inflict ES.

The multiple ES stacks are already bad news to the target since they’re bound to lose a large chunk of their HP on Ginga’s next turn. However, Ginga’s ultimate skill’s damage increases significantly for every 1 debuff the target has. So if ever the target has other debuffs applied to it on top of the multiple ES stacks, expect Ginga to deal massive damage to the target.

Shyura

Shyura is a red assault unit that also scales off her damage with HP. That said, since building her with high HP is recommended, she can be a very tanky offensive unit that can dish out incredibly high damage. She was available as a featured event (boosted appearance rate) unit but now she’s part of the Regular Recruitment character pool, making it harder to pull for her as she’ll be sharing the same appearance rate as the other 5-star AGs in the banner.

Her basic attack deals damage based on her ATK + HP with a probability to reduce the enemy’s DEF by 70% for 2 turns. When Shyura Mode is active, this attack can’t be deflected or countered. Her second skill also deals damage based on her ATK and HP, with a guaranteed chance to inflict DEF reduction for 2 turns. If her Shyura Mode is active, the skill ignores the target’s Status Resistance. Finally, upon killing the target, Shyura gains 30 energy.

Finally, her ultimate activates Shyura Mode mentioned above. This removes all debuffs on this unit, deals high DMG equal to her ATK% and HP% values to a single enemy while reducing the target’s ATK by 50%. Additionally, while in Shyura mode, the unit gains energy when using skills. If the unit takes damage or the unit’s turn is over, some energy is lost. Shyura mode is deactivated if the unit ends her turn with 0 energy.

Sirius

Sirius is a green assault unit that relies on speed and crit hits to dish out insane amounts of damage. Giving her gear that further increases her SPD and Crit Rate is highly recommended since all her skills scale off her SPD stat value. As a high speed unit, she’s almost always guaranteed to act first before anyone else. Not only that, she also has the capability to gain a bonus turn when she deals a critical hit, making her an outstanding unit overall both in PvP or PvE.

Her basic attack deals damage that scales off her SPD stat. If she has SPD boost active, the target’s DEF is also reduced by 70%. Her second skill also scales off her SPD stat, applies SPD boost on her, and enables her to get a bonus turn if she scores a crit hit. Finally, her ultimate’s damage also scales off her SPD and “tallying damage based on the attribute countering the target” (sorry, I’m not sure myself how to explain this sentence in layman’s terms). Killing a target with her ultimate also increases the duration of her buffs by 1 turn.

Hearin

The only Repair unit in the game, having Hearin in your team is a one-step easy mode in all game modes. She can effortlessly keep everyone alive, thanks to her entire kit dedicated to healing single allies or the entire party. The amount of HP recovered is significantly increased by leveling up her skills.

Her basic attack deals damage while also restoring HP to an ally with the lowest HP. Her Healer Grenade grants Rejuvenation to all allies for 2 turns (Restores HP at the beginning of your turn), while healing them outright, removing 2 debuffs from an ally with the lowest HP (excluding herself), and increases their Action Bar. Finally, her ultimate removes all debuffs from all allies, heals the entire team’s HP, and boosts their Action Bars.

That’s all our personal picks for the SS-tier units. Please check out our other articles for the S, A, and Special Tier lists for more information!
