Age of Colossus is an online Multi-Player, real-time strategy game that is very similar to the popular Last Shelter Survival and Rise of Empires. A base building survival game where you become the leader in a wasteland world of mutated creatures. Part building and development and part fighting this game offers a lot of choice and a long term strategic planning.

Pick a Class

When you start playing the game you will be directed through a number of tutorial stages where the game gets you to build the main buildings and start your army etc. Once you are done with this you will need to select a class to play as. The class will affect a few small strengths and weaknesses that you have. You can change the class at any time after this but you can only change for free at certain levels. The 3 classes offer a choice between self sufficiency (Quartermaster), Powerful attacks (Combatant) or a support role (Trader).

Alliance

Also during these initial stages you will have the opportunity to join an alliance. You do not need to join one right away (or at all) but it is highly recommended. Without an alliance you will always be vulnerable in the game, and will not be able to take advantage of all the events and rewards that the game offers. You can change alliance at any time as well and finding the strong alliance where you fit in will gain you protection, rewards and often some good friends.

Research

Buildings and upgrade for them will seem like a priority as you progress in the game but always make an effort to do the research items. As soon as you unlock the Institute building you can begin researching and each item will be a useful upgrade to your effectiveness. Remember to keep on top of research and check out each new research tree that unlocks.

Events

There are a lot of events in the game, many of which will unlock for you as you progress and the zone that you are in also move on. Each will offer the chance to earn rewards which will be the best way to progress in the game. When you start, completing events will be hard, but make as much progress as you can and with each increase in your own power that you make the easier it will be to earn more rewards.

Change your province early

For most new players staying in the province that you start in will be the best option. But if you know that you want to move to a different province to join friends perhaps then you should plan to do this as soon as possible. Moving province is free to do before you reach level 6. After this you must wait for several months and pay money to use the Immigration option to change.
