In the tournaments the number in the star is your position in the event based on your total score. If others over take you (by scoring more points while you are away) then you will drop in position (the number will get higher). Tap the star to see your position on the leader board and the amount of points you have scored compared to the others in your tournament. Score more points to climb back up the leader board.
