I had last 4 letters correct, and when typing next guess, I accidentally typed another letter in place..

I had last 4 letters correct, and when typing next guess, I accidentally typed another letter in place of a correct letter I had. Two blue dots with a line over it appeared and it won’t let me retype the word with the correct letter. How do I delete the mistake and retype?
