The Wordle solution can be any 5 letter word. Over time, though, I’ve noticed that nouns seem to predominate. It also seems like the NYT editor has a slight preference for words with a positive connotation (BRAVE is more likely than WIMPY). The editor also avoids any words that might be considered offensive, like BIMBO or BUSTY.
Last results were skill and aloft, noun and adjective. So all five letter words are possible including these, ready and also verbs like smear.
