Unsolved Case Episode 3 - Clue on Fire

Unsolved Case Episode 3 Clue on Fire is the third case in the series of mystery puzzle adventure games from Do Games. In this game you play as a successful Detective called to investigate another murder scene and follow the leads to solve the crime.

You will need to check everything in the scene to spot clues and gather the evidence you need. Then also solve tricky puzzles to help you progress. This game also offer the option to place through match 3 puzzles in some areas instead of completing puzzles, we will focus on guiding you through the puzzles here in this walkthrough.

Clue on Fire Walkthrough

Episode 3 starts with a Reporter receiving a threatening letter in the post. And an intro to tell us about an accident in a factory that happened 5 years ago. We then begin again with a visit to the Therapist to answer some detective questions. Answer however you wish and you will then find yourself at the station with the reporter waiting to speak to you.

Task - Find out where the letter came from

Begin by tapping the door at the end of the room to go though and interview Vivian Mills, the reporter. She will give you the letter.

Open the letter in your inventory to examine is and also find a card with a symbol.

Now tap again at the far end to view a filing cabinet, to the left of the door. Collect the chain piece that is on the drawers.

Now place the card on the drawers to start a matching puzzle.

• Tap on pairs of the colored folders in the drawers to lift then and look for symbols.
• Find symbols that appear on the card. You need to find a pair of each part of the symbol.
• When you get a matching pair that part of the card symbol will highlight
• There are 3 pairs to find

Solution: The following pairs of folder will have the matching symbols.

Once you have found 3 pairs you will be able to collect a folder from the left drawer with the symbol on it. It contains information on the Hourglass.

Now view the desk on the right with the open laptop.

Collect the Journal, this will store the tasks and notes that you find during the investigation. And then also a camera. Next add the Hourglass folder to the laptop to run a search, tap the screen and then on the print button to receive a print out of a map.

Now view the evidence board on the wall above the desk. (on the right).

Add the original letter and the map to it and you will start a puzzle.

Hourglass Map Puzzle

Hints:

• Tap the enveloper to see the symbol on the front. Then you can examine the map to find matching symbols from it.
• You examine the map by using the arrow controls to move the magnifying glass around.
• There are 4 to find, When you find the matching symbols tap them to collect them.
• Next tap the letter to see a clue (the word time). Now find 4 clock symbols
• Finally tap the envelope again to see a wine stain.
• Check the map again to find 4 drink symbols for bars.

After completing this the clues will lead you to a bar in town, The Hourglass. You will head over there.

Task - Get to the Hourglass Bar

After arriving outside the bar the reporter will give you a calendar.

Now you should first tap on a glowing red sign area to the left of the door.

Collect the map / tablet from the shelf and then also a lock pick (1 of 2) and a corkscrew.

Next try the door to the bar, but it is closed.

Now view the Sign area again and notice the Jazz poster. Use the Calendar on the poster and you will collect the poster.

Now try the door again and use the poster on the door to be allowed inside. You meet Earl the bartender.

There is a strange man at the bar.

Task - Question the Bar visitor

Try to talk to the man. but he will not want to talk to you.

Tap to view the jukebox just behind Earl.

Collect a note from the panel and then collect a Lens and some Wire Cutters. Now tap on the bar to the left of Earl, there is a pool cue fixed to the bar top.

Use the wire cutters on this to remove the 2 clips and collect the cue. Next tap at the top of the stairs above the jukebox to view some shelves.

Use the Cue on the top shelf and you will collect a pad lock. Back up out of the bar into the street and then tap on the broken swing on the left.

Add the chain section and the lock to the swing seat. This will fix it, you can then collect Tweezers and a toolkit from underneath it.

Now tap on the cab of the truck on the right to look inside. Tap the panel behind the steering wheel to open it and then use the tool kit on it to start a puzzle.

Truck Panel Puzzle

• Move the wire clips around to the various orange points.
• Place hem so that the connecting wires to not cross
• The wires will turn green when they are uncrossed.
• You also need to turn all of the lights green, this is done by connecting the correct points together.
• Not all the points will be connected.
• There is a lot of trial and error here

Solution:

Once done the lights on the truck will illuminate an alleyway. tap the lit area to go there.

On the ground on the right side is a barrel, view this.

Collect the round Door handwheel from the floor and then use the corkscrew on the cork at the bottom of the barrel, this will let the water out. The barrel will move.

Collect the Instant Film from under the barrel. View the camera in your inventory and then add to it the lens and the instant film. This will assemble the camera with instant film.

Now tap on the graffiti on the back wall and use the camera on it to take a photo.

Now back up and re enter the bar. Talk to the Man again and show him the photo. He will then tell you his story.

Photo Hidden Object Puzzle

The objects are hidden in 4 photos.

In each photo the man will tell you about himself and there will be 3 words skipped. These are the clues to the items to find.

Now we know Mr. Barlow was the owner of the factory that was destroyed 5 years ago. You will receive the volume button for the jukebox.

Task - Find the Clues

View the jukebox again and add the button to it. Then tap it to start playing a record.

You can then collect a broken handle that appears with the record. Exit the bar and return to the Alley. On the left is a spinning fan, view this.

Add the handle to the fan to stop it, you can then collect a penknife. Then use the tweezers to collect a coin from inside the fan unit.

Back up to the street and view the poster board on the left of the door again.

Use the coin on the slot on the right to start a puzzle game.

Coin slot puzzle

• Use the controls to move the coin around the maze.
• You need to pass over all of the blue ball to turn the green.
• The gold disks will rotate with each move you make and the paths that they allow you to take will change.
• Check the video below for help.

Once done you can collect a paper from the box on the right. It has an article about the Steel Mill accident.

Then from under the paper collect a Key fob.

Return to the alley and view the bottom right area again where the barrel was to find a drain cover.

View the drain and use the key fob to collect a second lock pick from it. (2 of 2)

Now view the bag that is on the ground at the end of the alley.

Use the lock picks to open it. You will then get a puzzle lock.

Alley Bag Lock Puzzle

• You need to set 8 'moves' by changing the 8 buttons at the top.
• When you press play the 8 moves will happen and try to open the 8 pegs on the left.
• Find the correct 8 arrow settings so that all pegs will open.
• Check the solution below.

Collect from the bag a Discharged Taser and Earl's ID card. Go back into the Bar and give the ID to Earl. Watch the scene to find out that out that Earl is our Culprit.

You then find yourself locked in a basement

Task - Get out of trouble

Tap the ropes on your hands to get free. Then collect the stool on the left of the room and use it on the small window (top left) to break it and clear the smoke from the air.

Next tap on Mr. Barlow to untie him, you will collect some rope.

Now tap on the furnace on the right side, collect the bag from the ground.

Open the bag in your inventory and collect from it. your previous items, Discharged Taser, Door handwheel, and penknife. Then tap on the workbench on the left side of the room, just to the right of Mr Barlow.

Collect a note from the clamp, then a paper with a 'hint' Now tap on the door on the right side of the room near the furnace. Add the 'hint' paper to the door and also the handwheel.

You now have a puzzle to open the door.

Basement door puzzle

• The hint paper show symbols with a number.
• The same symbols are seen on the door.
• You can turn the 3 colored circle son the door to reveal some of the symbols.
• Set them so that the correct number of each symbol appears.

You can now exit the door through the door and find Vivian.

Earl appears though and again locks the room to trap you.

Task - Call for Help

First tap to view the main console in the center of the room.

Find a clue note on the table and then collect a Valcoder (1 of 2), Plasticine and Batteries.

Now view the taser in your inventory and add the batteries to it to get a 'Shocker'

Next tap to view the large green machine on the right of the room.

Collect another note from the top left and then use can use the Shocker on the exposed wires.

The conveyor moves and reveals a pile of items. This is a puzzle.

Factory Hidden Object Puzzle

• The names of the items to find are listed at the bottom.
• Some items need to be assembled from 2 parts before they can be collected.
• Check the video below for help.

Once done you will collect a Gear. Now view the door on the left of the room behind Vivian.

Add the gear to it and the door will open, you can then head out into a small yard area.

On the right side of the boat dock is a wall with some ivy vines and a broken steam pipe, view this.

Collect from the left of this a Pump, and a wooden Pyramid. Then use the penknife on the ivy at the back to cut it away and find an Empty Paint can to collect.

Next tap on the red cylinders on the left of the yard scene to view the bottom of them.

Add the paint can to the spoke on the left to roll them away, then you can collect a second Valcoder and a Wrench.

Back up into the factory and then again to return to the basement where you were initially. Then view the workbench on the left again. Use the wrench on the vice grip on the left to open it and collect a Saw blade and some fire tongs.

Now view the furnace again. Use the tongs on it to pull out and collect a Hangar.

View the hangar in your inventory and then tap it to form it into a shape.

Now return to the factory. On the floor to the left of the center console is a broken radio.

Add the 2 valcoder buttons and the bent hangar to it, this will fix the radio and start a puzzle.

Radio Puzzle

• Tap to turn the dials to set the correct positions.
• The lights will turn green when you find the right positions for each.
• Turning some dials will also move others.
• Check the video below for help.

Once done the radio will activate and you will hear that the police are on the way.

Watch the scene to see the bomb activate then when prompted to help tie up Earls hands pass the Rope that you have.

Task - Defuse the Bomb

Tap on Earl to view him and you can them check his shirt pockets for items.

From the left pocket you can find a note and the Bomb instructions. And also a Screw.

Now view the center console again. Add the saw blade and the screw to the box and these will then assemble the circular saw. Press the red button top cut open the box. Collect from inside a photo, a Lighter and a Hose.

Now go through the back door again to the yard. View the pump in your inventory and add the hose to it.

Then view the boat on the right.

Place the pump with hose into the water to drain the boat, then collect a plank from the bottom of the boat.

Behind the boat is a small greenhouse. Tap to view this and you will see a corner of it.

Place the pyramid down and then the plank and you will raise the corner so that you can go inside.

You will find a puzzle.

Green house Puzzle

• Another hidden object puzzle, this time you have the object shapes as clues.
• Some items need to be assembled form 2 parts before you can collect them.
• Check the video below for help

Once complete you will collect the valve wheel.

Now view the broken steam pipe on the right of the yard again. Place the valve to turn off the steam and you can collect a brush (Comb)

Next view the boat again and use the Plasticine on the red box to take an impression of the lock shape.

Go back inside and then through to the basement. View the steps on the left under the small window.

Use the brush on the broken glass to clear it away then you can view a note. Then collect an Iron bar from the step.

Next view the furnace again. First place the Plasticine impression shape into the sand box on the left. This makes a mold.

Then add the iron bar to the crucible on top of the furnace to melt the iron.

Then drag the tongs to the bowl to pour it into the mold and then collect the 'Star'. Head back to the yard and use the star on the red box in the boat to open it.

Collect the Pegs. Now tap at the back of the yard to the left of the greenhouse, there is a small tree with traps placed under it.

First collect the note from the ground on the left and then you can use the pegs on the traps and you will start a puzzle.

Lemon Tree Trap Puzzle.

• This is a minesweeper style puzzle where you must find a clear path accross the field.
• Tap the arrow top left and then select your path to reach the target in the bottom right.
• If you find a trap you must start again.

Collect the lemon from the tree. Now view the Bomb instructions in your inventory (invisible ink) and add to it the lemon and the lighter.

This will reveal the instructions

Go back inside and tap to view the bomb that is in the large cabinet by the back door.

Add the instructions to it to begin the defusing puzzle.

Defuse the Bomb Puzzle

This puzzle has 3 stages.

Stage 1: A mastermind style challenge.

• The number on the right (red light) shows the number of symbols in the wrong place. The green light is the number that are correct.
• You need to find the correct symbol on the left first then work your way to the right.
• You only have a few seconds to make each attempt.

Stage 2:

• Use the symbol clues on the left and follow the wires to find the correct number switches.
• Again you have a timer to complete this.

Solution:

Stage 3:

• Use the arrow controls to direct the wire around the maze.
• You need to pass through the correct 3 junctions to complete the circuit.
• As before the is a timer.

Once done the bomb is defused and the police will arrive to arrest Earl.

Another case closed.
