Normally close to your house.

Close to your house is a dog park there's a bunch of dogs find one that's your species growl and bark if it has hearts around it that means it wants to be part of your family.

Check all squares near your house there is a dog park (it normally has dogs)

You follow a road out of the city, and when you get to a town, search every house till you find a dog that is your breed, then follow then growl, bark, and other stuff and soon you're their mate.

What you do, is you search around different places and you will eventually find the same dog breed as you. If it has hearts around it that means it wants to be part of your family.
