Comic book: Use the stationery display to produce notebooks and pens; upgrade both to max level; click on the notebook to use the pens to produce books.

Once you get the stationery items to highest merge, you need to get the fountain pen also. Tap on the book and you get the comic book. Took me ages to work this one out.
