How can I earn more diamonds with the latest change to the game? In the past version I think I could “buy” diamonds with stars. Is that possible with the “smilies”?

Haha no. You can:

1- Buy them with real money

2- Unlock new items (stickers)

3- Or from crates obtained from leveling up

The game is one of the those p2p type games. It’ll cost you either real money or a lot of time.
