Traffic Racer Review

Traffic Racer, a fantastic example of when simplicity and complex meet to produce this a pretty awesome game. Traffic Racer is exactly what it sounds like… a racing game, which involves speeding though traffic at unholy speeds while praying you’ve beat your high score. This game has two main “modes” which include the first: Swiftly dodge passing cars for as long as possible until you crash, and second: Driving as fast as you can for 100 or so seconds, these variety of modes plus the range of cars available to “unlock” means your toilet sitting or public transport is always going to be interesting!

Traffic Racer is a score based game so longevity wise it basically never ends, after you either crash or the time runs out you are given in-game money which you can either spend on new cars, new wheels or new levels! This allows you as the player to decide either to save up for a Bugatti or spend your well earned in-game wealth on new wheels or upgrades for your new bright red or green breezer.

With each new and better car you buy, you earn more money which make it easier to buy am even better one, its this intrinsic drive (pun intended) that pushes the game to be so entertaining. There is also a police car you can buy (in- game currency) which is insanely expensive and it unlocks a mode named “Police chase”, this enigmatic feature certainly seems promising however it does take a lot of saving up to unlock, costing a whopping 450,000 coins.

Now, lets talk graphics. While the visuals aren’t great, they certainly aren’t the worst however they were a small let down to an otherwise promising little companion. The graphics include shadows and reflections pretty well, this added with the symmetrical scenery on both sides of the road results in a pretty cool atmosphere while you ride down the freeway, you feel a bit gangsta!

The music and sound is one of the things I really like about this game. The music changes as to whether you’re in the garage, picking a car or if you’re on the freeway. Both songs fit completely with a sort of up-beat rhythm to them, lifting your mood as you play. There is an option to turn the music off if it isn’t to your taste though.

Adverts and commercials are included in the game but conveniently only appear when you have finished the race. There are also options to like and follow the company for more in- game coins, however once you like and follow, new options do not appear. Adverts also appear for other games when you’re in the garage, this can get tedious and annoying.

Now to the big one, price.

Its absolutely free, which makes this game completely amazing. It’s simple yet intriguing. Graphics are decent and the sound is different. The features of the game are what make it perfect to pass time. There are a few adverts though which results in me giving Traffic Racer, a 4.5/5.

Brill game!
