What ants guard my anthill?

What ants guard my anthill? Is it only the march troops or do all the soldier ants that I hatch guard the anthill? The more ants I hatch the better the guard defense?

Only the garrisoned marches, their special ants and insects, and toxic fungi defends your hill.
