How do you move items that you have placed?

Often you build items that you need and then want to move them somewhere else. Buit is this possible?

Unfortunately there is no way to return an item to your inventory as it is, or move it from one place to another. If you no longer want the item in its current location you can destroy with your tools (axe, pickaxe etc) but you do not get any resources back from this.

This seems to be a shame, it would be good if they game you back half the wood / stone etc to use for a new one
