Which Character Class to Choose? and Which is the best character class?

As soon as you start playing Stella Arcana you'll be faced with an important decisions, which character class to choose? Currently, there are 6 different classes in Stella Arcana, there is no single one better than the others, they all have strengths and weaknesses, and who you pick will depend on how you think you will play the game.

One thing to consider is the difficulty rating for each of the six classes. This is an indication of how difficult that character class is to use. If this is your first time playing the game, and you don't have too much experience with RPG games, then you don't really want to be choosing a high difficulty class such as the Shadow Assassin or Rune Mage. Probably the best choice for beginners will be the Omni Warrior, it has good basic stats but more importantly it has an ok difficulty level of 3/5. The Holy Priest is even easier to play with but her stats for attack, control and agility are too low overall for my liking.

Elven Archer

Elven Archer

The Elven Archer is great for more experienced players that prefer to do ranged damage as opposed to melee. All of her stats are great except her ability to heal, so you'll need to be able to keep the Elven Archer out of trouble and keep her distance from battles in order to not get drawn into high damage melee battles.

If you decide to go with the Elven Archer you can decide to take her down one of two talent paths: Shooter or Reflex

The Shooter talent path will give the Elven Archer a damage bonus, and the Reflex path will increase the attack speed and give some healing too. The reflex path will correct the problem of the Elven Archer not being able to heal herself so well, so is a good choice to take for more cautious players, or if you want to go straight out and attack, then the shooter talent path is the one for you.

Holy Priest

Holy Priest
Holy Priest

The Holy Priest is rated by the game as the easiest character class to use in Stella Arcana, but that in itself should not be a good reason to select this class, even if you are a beginner! Because basically you are not going to be a beginner for ever, and selecting the Holy Priest class could leave you very low when it comes to a lot of the essential stats needed in the game such as attack, agility and control. While the Holy Priest can heal herself well and has great armor, her attacking stats are really low, which means, for us here at AppGamer, we would not recommend choosing the Holy Priest as your starting character class in Stella Arcana - despite how good she looks!

If you do decide to go with the High Priest then you will have two talent paths to choose from: Discipline or Healer

Choosing Discipline will give you a large percentage increase in attack and an increase in your light mastery so you will have some much needed added strength in your attack. Conversely, choosing Healer will give you both an increase in healing power and hit points, which are already very high. Unfortunately if you choose the Discipline class then she'll be really low powered in attack, and you probably won't find her that useful. However, having a strong healer such as the Holy Priest in a team can be useful.... Just not on her own!

Omni Warrior

Omni Warrior

The Omni Warrior will be the go to character class for the majority of players, his all-round good stats make him a great choice for both beginners and advanced players.

If you decide to select the Omni Warrior, then you can decide to take him down one of two talent paths: Tenacious or Shudder

Basically these two talents will decide whether you develop the Omni Warrior's tanking skills or his damage skills. Select Tenacious if you want to increase the Omni Warrior's tanking power where he will gain the ability to taunt all enemies, taking the blows away from other team members and restoring some health. Select Shudder if you want to increase the Omni Warrior's attack damage, then select Shudder where you will enjoy a large increase in Damage Per Second (DPS) and gain an Attack All Enemies (AoE) skill dealing massive damage to all close by enemies.

The Omni Warrior is our personal favourite, he's a great all round, and doesn't require too much thinking to use, he can just get stuck in. Also, of the two talents available, we'd pick Shudder every time and make him an awesome damage dealing fighting machine!

Rune Mage

Rune Mage
Rune Mage

The rune mage is another ranged attacker that is a specialist AoE attacker with spells, rated as a little harder to use than some of the other characters, the rune mage is a good choice for experienced players that can handle the classes low defense stat and keep the Rune Mage out of trouble.

The talent options for the Rune Mage are Flame and Mystery.

With Flame you get increased damage and fire mastery and with Mystery you get a similar damage increase but instead of increased fire mastery you get 10% HP regeneration.

Shadow Assassin

Shadow Assassin
Shadow Assassin

The Shadow Assassin class has really high attack and agility stats, and is also rated by the game as the most difficult to use character class. He is quite unique in that he has the Stealth ability which will allow you to surprise your opponents due to the fact you'll be cloaked for the initial 8 seconds of a battle.

The two talent options the Shadow Assassin has are Thorn, which will give the character a large increase in damage and Shadow will give you increased health regeneration and a reduction in damage taken. The unique Stealth ability can only be gained if you chose the Thorn talent line.

Rosen Knight

The Rosen Knight class is not selectable yet as a playable character class in Stella Arcana, there is some information around the internet about this 6th class, but until the developers officially release data on the Rosen Knight Class, much of the details are open to speculation.

The most likely theory put forward by some is that the Rosen Knight will be similar in many ways to the popular Omni Warrior but weighted towards more of a tank, where the Omni, is has tank skills, but is more weighted towards inflicting damage.

We hope to see the Rosen Knight being available soon on Stella Arcana.

Our Pick for Best Class

We hope you enjoyed our run down of the different character classes in Stella Arcana, and it helps you to pick the best class for you in the game. We're going to go with the Omni Warrior as our favourite class, let us know in the comments below which class you picked and why.

If at some point you want to change your class it is possible to do this in the game after you reach level 60 and complete a NPC quest.
