I'm pretty sure you mean perfect locks? If one of your cards has a perfect lock ability, when it activates it will turn all your next Greats (and Goods I think) into Perfects, until it's gone. It basically helps you pass the song without screwing up on a particular section and it's helped me a lot. Really useful once you play the hard EX songs.
