Paper Bride 5 Chapter 2 - Puppets Walkthrough

Paper Bride 5 Two Lifetimes is another in the popular series of Mystery Puzzle games from Heartbeat Plus. The game features tales inspired by Chinese Folk lore and challenging puzzles to keep you entertained.

After trying to escape the theatre in Chapter 1 and ending up on the Stage as part of the play the curtain closes. Xiao Cui is taken by the strange puppet figures. You try to follow but find yourself in a long abandoned theatre with no sign of her. .

Zhong Ziyi is injured and needs to rest. So you must continue alone for now. Notice on the floor are some symbols, 5 shapes with arrows, these will be useful later.

First tap on the arrow on the right to view the stage, there is a puppet show on display.

You watch the show as if you are the character being executed.

When it is done you can collect a Spear from the stage on the right. And then also take the Puppet Head.

Next tap on the tree to the left of the stage to see a small statuette in it. Collect the Statuette.

Back up and give the spear to Ziyi. After a conversation she will give you her Phone. Now tap on the hole in the floor to the left, below where Ziyi is sitting.

There is a plank positioned on some rubble at the bottom of the hole. Use the Puppet head on the plank to drop it down and this will cause the object on the plank to fly up for you to catch. You collect the Tack Box.

Now return to the view of the stage. There is a cloth hanging on the tree on the far left. View the tree again and use the tack box on it. This will pin up the cloth.

Then you can use the phone on the Tack to hammer it in and secure the cloth. This will reveal a secret door in the tree. Go through to a back room.

First view a game board on the floor. Tap on this to flip it over and then you can collect the Locked box that you find underneath.

Next view the shelf unit on the back wall. There is a costume and a book hanging above. Look inside the book to see 3 pages of clues.

Now tap on the table on the right. You will see 3 Heads.

Puppet Heads Puzzle

• Each head has 2 flaps on the sides. There are 3 different shapes.
• Each one of these can be moved up or down by tapping and dragging.
• The clue is on the floor in the main room.

Solution:

1. Left Head - Left side rectangle - Up
2. Right Head - Right side circle - Up
3. Center Head - Right side diamond - Down
4. Right Head - Left side circle - Up
5. Center Head - Left side diamond - Down.

A key will pop out and a Clay doll will run across and take it. You cannot take the key as the doll moves too fast for you.

Return to the Theater and give the locked box to Ziyi. After a conversation you will receive Books and the Empty Box.

Now go back to the secret room and view the table with the clay doll again. You can use the Empty Box on the table, then tap the doll to chase it until it is trapped in the box.

You will get the Key.

Now view the small electric box on the wall above the table on the right of the room.

Electical Box Puzzle

• Use the key on the box to start the puzzle.
• It does not turn but you need to move it in a sequence of directions to open it.
• The clue is found in the book on the shelf to the left.

Solution:

With the box open tap the switch on the left to turn on the power.

Now go back to the Theatre and you will see flickering lights in a sequence of colors.

Now you can return to the Electical box in the secret room, tap on the top right of it to see 5 buttons.

Tapping each button will set the color of the light below it.

Check the number of flashes of each color in the sequence to get the correct setting.

Set the light colors as Red, Blue, White, Off (no color), Red

You will now reveal another switch. Turn this one on as well.

The light is on in the room and you can see a poster on the wall on the left. Take the Poster

Return to the main theatre room and view the posted on the wall on the left of the stage. Place the poster you have over the one that its there. Then use the tack box on it to secure it in place.

Now you can look at the stage again and the scene has changed. The puppet on the left will start boxing. This is a fight challenge

Boxing Fight

• Tap the buttons on the screen to dodge the punches.
• You must do this at the right time so that you don't get hit.
• Tap when the shrinking circle is over the inner circle.

After completing this challenge a headless puppet drops down. You can then collect the Stool that is on the left.

Then go through the small door on the left to the secret room again. Place the stool under the trap door on the left. You will then need to add the books as well.

Finally add the phone to stop the stool from wobbling. Now you can open the trap door in the ceiling and go up to the control room.

Tap on the door on the right of the female puppet, then again to read a newspaper report. The image on the left of the report shows a puppet in an unusual pose.

Now tap on the large Puppet on the left of the room, he is holding a wooden paddle with strings attached.

Puppet control puzzle

This is the control for a puppet below, you have see the intructions in the book in the room below.

You need to use the strings to move the limbs of the puppet that is on the stage o copy the one shown in the image on the newspaper.

Solution:

Go back down to the see to see the puppet. After the conversation you will be able to collect a Bow to play a Jinghu and a second Statuette. There is a so a locked case that you cannot open yet.

Play the Jinghu

Go back up to the control room, There is a Jinghu instrument on the floor in the center.

Use the bow on this and you will be able to tap some numbers to play notes. The clue for the numbers is also in the book.

Solution:

Once done the puppet figure will open her hand and you can collect a Metal plate

You will then be told that the other puppets have also changes positions. Notice that on the sheet on the left of the room is a shadow of a hand.

You need to tap each hand to set a pose until they are all lit up with lights to make shadows. This is a clue.

Show

Now you can view a green electrical box on the back wall behind the puppets. This has a lock with 5 buttons with hand symbols.

Use the clue to tap the buttons in the correct order.

Solution:

After the power turns on take the second Metal Plate.

Then go back down to the stage and view the case again. Add the 2 plates to it.

This will reveal a number, notice also the arrow.

Enter the code into the lock to open the case.

Solution:

Collect a Poster from the case.

Now go back to the main room and view the poster on the wall again. As before replace this with the new one and use the Tack box to secure it in place.

View the stage again to see that there is now a new performance. After the scenes you can collect another Statuette from the ground.

Now return to the main room and view the doors next to Ziyi.

Place the 3 statuettes in the slots on the door, you can then open it.
