Drag a plate towards the hanging hooks after you fix the motor. You have to release them in just the right spot for them to hang.

If this is for the final scene, you don't fix the motor. The plate needs to be placed before the clip stops moving (as soon as it comes out).Guest Replied

If you can't see the screen, then drag them over just as a banner passes. The clips are "behind" a screen element. It may take several attempts and you have to go through a few rounds of dialogue ad nauseum, but you can do it.
