Do the free dice links for monopoly go only work if a game on my phone is downloaded thru Google play store?

Recently got a new phone and monopoly go is not compatible to download on my device thru Google play BUT somehow I managed to find on my phone the galaxy store and low and behold I was able to download it on my phone thru the galaxy store app instead but now when I try to click the free dice links instead of it opening to the game and claiming the reward it now redirects me directly to the Google play store where it tries to have me download the game thru Google play even though it's already on the phone lol
