Does the gift box, earned on completing the tasks, merge? If so, how many times? P.S. these gift boxes only appeared after the recent update this week

It's possible to merge them... I have a lvl 3 gift boxes but I didn't earn more to test the max lvl. Can anyone inform me the max lvl of the chests?

Thanks

I too am trying to find out the difference between level 3 & max level cause as far as I can tell each gives 18 items.
