Why do the compass counts go up and the land mass decrease.. There are big gaps on my outer islands and the decorations My junk Island is almost full and you could drive a semi thru some of them.

Island terrain is created for artistic purposes, but all plots to open have a minimum of 25 squares. Compasses climb because the developers are trying to slow down players from advancing the game too quickly.
