I needed 21 flowers I got more than that and now need 256. My next level won't unlock, indicates -19..

I needed 21 flowers I got more than that and now need 256. My next level won't unlock, indicates -19 flowers, what does that mean? How do I 'spend' 19 flowers?

If it shows a negative number, it is a glitch. Reloading the game will usually fix it.
