Using the refresh option is only a temporary measure; that task will come up again shortly. The best you can do is to have as many requests available for the game to select from. That means having scenes open with clues still available, star boxes to open, chapters to travel to, seasonal set items to buy, levels to increase, Estate coins ready to collect, etc.

For example, once you complete the monthly set, you will no longer get the request to buy seasonal sets, so your list of tasks is reduced to tasks that are more difficult. By avoiding set completion until the end of the month, you'll continue to get this relatively easy task.

One strategy is to not exchange the task and keep it in place. That prevents it from being requested in the other 2 slots, so you can at least play those.
