Ms. Tearius Answered:

The newsletter says, "You can purchase Compasses through the in-game store, find them in Star Boxes, or receive them as rewards for playing Hidden Object Scenes." It does not talk about an online store. Within the game, you can purchase compasses in the Deja Vu Shop. One compass costs 40 Deja Vu Tokens, and you can only buy a limited number of compasses. My Deja Vu Shop says there is one compass currently available; in the past album, I've had more. There may be more when new Deja Vu items.
