After a doing a required update I lost all progress that I had made. I have tried doing everything to restore it back. I finally Uninstall and reinstall but that didn't work either. The app is now as if I'm starting from the beginning. I have been playing for over a year and hope there is a way to recover my items back. I am not on Facebook and have been playing on my Smart phone so I don't know if that is the reason I haven't been able to fix it. Does anyone know if I can recover my items and if so how to do I recover them?

Having Facebook is the only way to back up the file. If you have the game ID # and receipts of purchases you've bought for the game, you can try asking customer support through the "help" button in the game settings or through the "contact us" button at the bottom of http://wooga.helpshift.com/

Thanks MS. Tearius for your response. I have not purchased the game. I downloaded the free app to my smartphone and have played on it since. It has been awhile since I first started the game that can't remember anything about an ID # or even if I had to create an account. I am not a member of facebook so, I use my Smartphone. The last time I played it said that I needed to update and that's when I lost all the progress that I had made on my inland.. I appreciate you taking the time to answer questions for those of us hat, are tech challenged.

They claim that Google backup works for this, too. I don't know, because I can't get Google backup to work at all. I think my virus protection is causing it to fail. I had to change my phone and I was up at level 1069 (two and a half years), and I lost it all.
