Why am I being forced to play jacks new game in order to collect my coins? Very annoying.

That doesn't make any sense to me. If you mean Jack's worldwide delivery, there is a tutorial you need to go through, but after that, the game is clear for playing as usual. If you mean the new Sweep the Board event, again go through the tutorial, then tap on the red "X" to leave at any time to resume your game.
