Been playing JJ over a year, just went to go into it and it's asking me to enter my age to continue. Will this mean it will start as a new game and lose my progress?

No, you won't lose your progress. Because of new legislation in Europe, games must start verifying the age of players and prevent minors from accessing age-restricted content, such as gambling, which is what buying snippet packs and star boxes are. That is why you are being asked your age.
