Why is it that I can blow through a new chapter, first star, sometimes in one play, yet by the time I get to the fourth and fifth star, it takes 12+ times playing the scene? It gets old playing the same episode so many times in the final stars to achieve the pink star box
That is by design, the first star of the first scene in each chapter can be filled with one play, but more plays are needed per star and per scene. Developers need to slow down players by having them play more, or else they will catch up with them too quickly. Players should be playing and replaying scenes to get the materials and resources needed to progress in the game. If it gets tedious, try to beat your own score or set a target score to beat; this will improve your skills in the long run.
12+ times is not much. I often play a scene 100+ to get high scores, coins, materials and other goodies.
