Hi why am I only currently getting nine energy when I drink someone's coffee in a cafe?

oh ok I thought you get 10 and that's why the upgrade in the cafe shop shows from 10-11 energy
so what give 10 ?

Everyone's drink started with 9 energy. Sounds like you've upgraded yours to 10. You can tell by tapping on the teacup icon with the "+" sign and it will say "Energy 10 for EVERYONE". So your drink is worth 10 to you when you serve, and teammates who drink it will get 10. But if you have a teammate that has never upgraded, everyone will only get 9 energy from that drink. Once you buy the upgrade from 10 to 11, your drink will then be worth 11 energy. Make sense?

Here is the chart for cost of drink upgrade:
9 to 10 = 10 tips
10 to 11 = 500 tips
11 to 12 = 1,400 tips
12 to 13 = 3,600 tips
13 to 14 = 6,600 tips
14 to 15 = 12,200 tips

Thank you for the explanation I understand I don't recall upgrading to 10 energy and I just checked and right now it's saying for diamonds I can serve a cup for 10 energy. What do the specialty drinks earn do they automatically earn more energy than a basic cup of coffee?

No, all specialty drinks are cosmetic changes only, with no additional game benefit. They will all provide the same energy as your coffee does. Better to spend tips on upgrading energy (helps your team), hints for competitions, or pink 5-star boxes (for yourself).
