In the League weeks is there any advantage to coming in first week to week?

In the League weeks is there any advantage to coming in first week to week? No prize diff 1st thru 3rd place. seems if you come in 1st you get more difficult clubs to beat the next. We went from 1st on 1st week to 4th the next week. We played our best game yet but couldn't beat them. Since we came in 4th last week, this week is easier for advancement. Is it better to come in 3rd so you don't get pitted "algorithmically" against harder teams? Or is this random?

Ms. Tearius Answered:

I believe there is no advantage or disadvantage to coming in first, compared to 3rd. Top 3 teams will be pitted randomly against other teams that advanced, so it will get naturally harder. First place teams are not necessarily pitted against other 1st place teams (or those with same points). Similarly, 4th place teams are randomly pitted against teams that failed to advance and not necessarily pitted against other 4th place teams.

Thanks. Our team was also wondering if this applies to the competitions

Placing high in team competitions will make a difference to how you are grouped the next competition. Placing high in league division in itself, will not determine the grouping for the next competition.

Our team leader has told us, from information received on the President’s Club, that coming in 1st means you are pitted against higher scoring teams the next week. As a result, we have been saving ribbons and suppressing our score. I would think that this is the opposite of what is wanted or intended. It would be good if there were an official statement made that could clarify and bring transparency to the process.

Wooga has always been very tight-lipped regarding their algorithms. They say the do not want players to know, as it would affect how they play.

That’s exactly how your team should play. The higher your ribbons the more

Whether you should earn as many ribbons as possible or suppress your score depends on your team goal and strategy. Wooga developers, of course, want you play fully, use up your game resources, and spend money to play more. Not all teams will pursue that course. I think it is wise to reserve game resources for harder battles, and not just earn ribbons for the sake of earning ribbons.
