Every time I enter the Detective Lounge it shows 0/0 online. I have previously bought drinks which remained unclaimed so I'm reluctant to buy any more. Am I just unlucky with my timings or is there some way of knowing the best time to enter and buy drinks? Thanks.
If you are in a club, the best time is the club's posted meeting time. If the members are not exchanging coffee at that time and there is no activity in the club's chat room, then I suggest you find a more active club.
If you are not in a club, it is hit or miss when your gifting boat neighbors who are not in a club, will be online and playing. It is possible that all your neighbors are already in a club, so that they will never appear online with you. Then my advice is that you join a coffee-only club (assuming you don't want competitions) at a meeting time that is convenient to you.
Before you buy a drink look in the lower right and you will see a # of how many players are there. If there are zero players then wait until there are one or more before buying a round, that way you have more chances of earning tips.
