I am not an officer of my team. I enjoy playing with many on my team but there are half or more that do not contribute or only contribute slightly to get the prize. If I leave this team, will I loose communication with the ones on my team that I enjoy playing with or will they remain on my boat?

They will not remain on your boat unless you are Facebook friends with them, and even then, sometimes not.
