Does Amazon cloud save June’s Journey progress so that if my daughter downloaded the app on her Fire tablet she would have to play the same game I have been playing on my separate Fire tablet or is she able to start a new game on her tablet without erasing the game on my Fire? In other words is the game on a fire tablet ‘device’ specific or account specific.

Amazon cloud does not save JJ game progress. If game is not connected (backed up) by Facebook connection, then it is saved on the device. So you should have no problem with her playing her own game on her own device.
