Volume 2 is a prequel to Volume 1, it takes place before they died.

Storyline timeline:

Volume 1 (1927-32)

Volume 2 (1922-27) – prequel to Volume 1

Volume 3 (1932-33) – follows Volume 1

Volume 4 (1933-) – follows Vol. 3

But in Volume 2 June had already served in WW I and had all the adventures in Paris and then come home and was tell Clare about it???
