Is it possible to find a former teammate if they are not on Facebook and invite them to your team?

Nearly impossible. Only way is to leave your current team and return to your old team and convince them to leave on the club lounge chat. If you were able to contact them outside of the game (i.e. email), then you could ask them to search for your team and join.
