After inviting Detective to join my club, what is the red circle next to their name on the boat list..

After inviting Detective to join my club, what is the red circle next to their name on the boat list mean? How will I know how they respond, yes or no to invitation.

The red circle allows you to cancel your invitation.

I invited somebody - and also have the red circle next to his alias (like invitation is valid). Although, when I was sending it, got a message "Something went wrong".
Now I'm not sure that the person actually received my invitation...
Should I uninvite and invite again?
Silly, but I wonder if it won't be rude from my side :/
