Sounds like a glitch. Are you still able to access your star boxes? If not, you should let customer support know.

That happened to me as well. I thought it was just a new look, but then it didn't happen again. I was still able to access my boxes. 0 0 REPORT

I have been playing for several months and it has done every so often to me.Guest Replied
I believe the dark background occurs when you earn a gift box by completing a detectives needed round. Gift boxes earned by earning badges have the light background.Search for more answers for June's Journey - Hidden Object or ask your own here.
