Landmarks are the unmovable structures on the island that will give you Flowers when you renovate them. There are a total of 5 and they need to be renovated one by one in order: Chapel, Lighthouse, Pirate Ship, Mountain Chateau, and Aviary. Each bar that you fill is considered one renovation. If you watch the video ad, you can fill two bars (renovate twice) ever 20 hours. The first 4 structures will take 5-7 months to complete if you renovate daily.

Where is the video to watch to fill two bars in a day?

As soon as you renovate once, you should see a button that says "watch". Once you watch that ad, you'll get the button to "renovate" once more. This is assuming you have given the game permission to show ads.

I have never gotten that option a second time. Why?
