Look at the far wall in the compartment and find the brown butterfly plaque. Then go to June's Journey scene 1 and look for her sisters. You'll find 3 blue butterflies in scene 1. The riddle solution is "blue".

Once bright with vibrant summer hues, are now brown as fall.
The word you seek, the former tint of her and her sisters’ wings,
On Orchid Island can be found, at the beginning of all things.”
Solution: Riddle describes the brown butterfly plaque on the compartment wall. Go to the very first scene at the beginning of June's Journey game (Scene #1 Orchid Island Estate) and look for the color of her sisters, the 3 butterflies next to the fountain.
