How do I escape the cave at the end of chapter 39? This is the first time I've had trouble with one of these chapter closures... don't know whether it's me or a glitch in the game. Thanks for any help!

Try this walkthrough and see if this helps.
Chapter 39-Escape the Cave Walkthrough
click on opening
move barrels x3
get pickaxe
get shovel
use shovel on mud x3
get rope and combine with pickaxe
use rope and hook on opening
exit cave

To find the rope, you must get the shovel and use it on the mud pile that is between the stacked and your inventory circles.Guest Replied

I'm answering my own question. Yesterday's problem is no longer a problem. Everything ran smoothly today. Go figure....
