I recommend buying the most expensive decorations you can that you like. This helps keep space available. Concentrate on expensive trees and plants and you will have a less cluttered look for your island as you go on. When decorating your island cluster your buildings that give coins (like the mansion) together. This will make it easier to collect as you get more of them.

If you buy too many low-flower decoration, you will quickly run out of space. Budget some of your coins to buy the high-flower decoration and you'll get further in the game with less frustration.
