Check the event criteria. Are keys earned from cases or scenes or both? The current event (July 3-7), keys are earned from cases only.

Why did it change a case on me before case was finished?.

It's not supposed to change, unless you tap the red swap button. I've done that on accident, when I meant to tap the red "X" to exit.
