Renovation of the 5 landmarks don't require building materials, like paint, so I think you mean upgrading buildings. The materials that are not used for upgrading buildings will be useful for Jack's plane deliveries, and the more materials, the better his delivery.

Fully agree, paint as a special item is ridiculous considering how little it is used. The fact that you can accumulate hundreds of tins feels like a design flaw or cruel programmer’s joke to me. Would be nice to be able to swap accumulated items that will never be used for something useful and Jack’s plane trips don’t come close to keeping up with supply of items, especially paint.Ms. Tearius Replied
